PROGRESSION FROM AS!

In my AS project, I worked as the camera person, which was a role that taught me an incredible amount about creativity and technical skills. I became confident with camera angles, shot types, framing, and movements, and I learnt how each of these choices can completely change the mood or meaning of a scene. That experience not only sharpened my practical abilities but also gave me a strong sense of visual storytelling. The knowledge I gained last year played a huge part in helping me achieve an A grade, as I was able to contribute ideas that made the project more visually engaging and professional. It was a year of learning by doing, and it gave me a solid foundation to build on for A2.

This year, I have taken on the role of director for our A2 music video project, which is a big step forward in my creative journey. Directing allows me to apply everything I learnt about camera work while also developing leadership, decision-making, and creative vision. Moving from being behind the camera to leading the entire production shows how much I have progressed, as now I am responsible for shaping the final outcome and guiding my team. The skills I developed in AS are proving very effective in this role, because I can make more informed choices and communicate my ideas clearly. This progression reflects my growth not only in technical ability but also in confidence and responsibility as a media student.
